Mecca Bingo Takes to the Skies
Mecca Bingo has an ongoing campaign to raise charitable funds for the Whizz Kidz foundation, and their team member are really taking this seriously. Seriously enough to take it to the skies! In September the team at Mecca bingo in Cross Gates will be taking part in a sponsored sky dive to raise money for the children’s mobility charity.
This is not the first event, but it is certainly one of the more daring. What is really interesting about this particular sponsored sky dive is the fact that both people participating in it are ladies.
Yvonne Vine and Layna Gofmanas are going to be risking life and limb when they launch themselves into the air in this fund raising event.
Bingo has long been recognized as a leading benefactor in charitable causes. Virtually every bingo Club, including online bingo sites in the UK take part in some or other fund raising activities. One online bingo site, Big Heart Bingo, actually give 50% of it proceeds to various charitable causes. Crown bingo hosts a nightly fund raising event once a month and Mirror bingo also identifies a charitable concern that they spend one day a month raising funds for.
The online bingo sites mentioned above are just a drop in the ocean. I am sure that there are many others that I haven’t mentioned that are very active in raising funds for charitable concerns. The fact that the game of bingo had its beginnings in raising funds for charity in the US is more than likely what makes the game so socially acceptable.
